Dan came to MIG following a 31-year career with the State of Wisconsin. He retired as the State's Highway Safety Bureau Director, overseeing millions in federal and state grant funding directed toward improving both transportation safety and ultimately the overall quality of life for the state's many roadway users. Dan rose to the rank of State Highway Patrol Major, serving a dual role in leading a highly skilled, professional, and diverse law enforcement staff.
At MIG, Dan will focus on management coordination and process improvements, enhancing overall customer service while streamlining company efficiencies. His leadership skills, developed through initiating progressive change in how America meets today's transportation challenges will serve to keep MIG as one of the leading innovative business models of tomorrow.
Dan served as Chairman of the State's Traffic Safety Counsel for eight years and on the Board of Directors for the National Governor's Highway Safety Association for more than six years. As Director, he provided national leadership in upgrades to traffic data for real-time analysis toward early detection of emerging trends in high risk driver behaviors. He is a nationally recognized speaker on the integration of social marketing techniques together with contemporary federal and state legislation in driving behavioral attitude changes of targeted highway-user demographics.
An Army veteran, Dan studied at Cardinal Stritch University and holds a BA in Business Administration. He comes from a family of 10 brothers and sisters and along with his wife, Shelly, live in Windsor. He is passionate about golf and enjoys long cross-country rides on his latest Harley-Davidson, having logged more than 100,000 miles in over 35 states and Canada.
